This will be our troop’s 4th year of participation in the Conifer Christmas Parade. We always look forward to this fun event, and this year is no different! Here are the things to sign up for:
Float Construction
We will be working on constructing the float on 3 different days: Saturday, November 18, Tuesday, November 21, and Saturday, November 25. Each day will be from 1-3PMat 221 Delwood Drive. You don’t HAVE to sign up in order to participate, but knowing how many will be there will help us prepare materials and snacks!
Conifer Parade
Since the theme of this year’s parade is “Christmas Past and Future”, we thought it would be SUPER COOL to borrow some vintage Girl Scout costumes from the Girl Scout museum and wear them in the parade! This means we need a good headcount ahead of time, and we also need to know your girls’ clothing sizes.
The Conifer Christmas Parade takes place on Saturday, December 2. You can show up as early as 1PM, but girls should be no later than 1:30PM at West Jefferson Middle School. The parade runs roughly from 2-3. You can pick up your girls at the end of the parade route by the Conifer post office, or you can meet us back at the middle school.
Bailey Parade
In addition to the Conifer Christmas Parade, we have been invited to participate in the Cowboy Christmas parade on Sunday, December 3! Girls should arrive by 5PM at Rustic Square in Bailey (the little shops by the Rustic Station & McGraw park) for a 5:30PM start time. Note that this is after sundown and will be quite chilly, so please plan on dressing accordingly. Also, for the Cadettes participating in the Journey Weekend, this is after the conclusion of that event so you can participate if you want to be a part of the weekend’s parade festivities.
The deadline for parade participation signups is Sunday Night, November 19
because we have to get our uniform orders in. You are welcome to participate if you have not signed up by this date, but your girl will not have a vintage uniform to wear.
