Hello, Girl Scouts! We’ve already cruised through the first of our summer events, but that’s not all! We have more fun on the horizon.
July 7: Camping & Outdoor Skills Day
What’s summer in the Rockies without a bit of camping? And this year, there is a BRAND NEW camping badge for Daisies! Join us on Friday, July 7 at 9AM at the Dobolek home (47 Green Street) for a day’s worth of learning and fun. Knots, fire building, campfire cooking – we’re going to do it all! (Don’t worry, our lessons will be tailored for the girls’ age levels.)
At the end of the day, girls are welcome to stay the night and camp in the backyard, or they can go home if they don’t feel up to it. You can also come camp with their girl if you register as a volunteer with Girl Scouts. Please contact Elizabeth for more information about this option. If your girl does stay overnight, we’ll need a couple forms filled out for safety’s sake. We’ll email you about these forms when we get closer.
When you RSVP, please indicate whether your girl will be staying over or not, and if you intend to join us.

July 19: Girl Scout Movie Day
Lots of movie theatres have awesome summer specials, so we are going to take advantage of it for a fun Girl Scout Movie Day! On Wednesday, July 19, we will be going to see Cats and Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore down in Highlands Ranch. We’ll cover the tickets, but please bring your own snacks or bring extra cash for snacks.
We will leave at 8:30AM from Crow Hill Bible Church, and we should be back around 1PM or so.
Parents and siblings are welcome to come too! We’re headed to the UA Meadows Stadium 12.

July 30: Pirates Cove
Every year, the Girl Scouts have a swim party at Pirates Cove, and this year is no different! On Sunday, July 30, we’ll be leaving at 5PM from Crow Hill Bible Church for a fun day of swimming! We should get home around 9:30 or so.
Cost is $5; we will buy event patches for girls who are registered with our troop.
You must RSVP for the Swim Party by July 21!!!

July 31: Water Fun & Horses Day at Chatfield
We’ve finally got the boat fixed and we’re ready to celebrate! We are headed to Chatfield Reservoir on Monday, July 31. We will be swimming and boating, and horseback riding will also be available for girls 7 and older.
The horseback riding opportunity is especially great for the Juniors as they will earn a badge for it!
Meet at Crow Hill Bible Church at 8:30AM. Girls who are not horseback riding will be home around 4:30. Girls who are horseback riding will be home around 5:45 or so.
You must RSVP for Horseback Riding by July 14!!!
Costs:
• $5/girl
• $25/girl for horseback riding if registered in our troop
• $37/girl for horseback riding if not registered in our troop
If you are riding horses, please plan on getting payment to us before the event. We can send you a link to pay online, or you can bring a check to Elizabeth by July 14 (either at a Girl Scout event or through other arrangements).
Failure to pay means losing your horseback riding spot.
If you are not riding horses, you can bring your $5 the day of.
